MATTHIJS DE LIGT TRANSFER PROFILE FOR THE MOST IN-DEMAND PLAYER IN THE WORLD
Manchester United are the early movers among the original Premier League big three, signing Daniel James from Swansea City for £18million.

The Red Devils are still in the market for new recruits and have been linked with everyone from Ajax wonderkid Matthijs de Ligt to Monaco midfielder Youri Tielemans.

The former’s girlfriend was recently spotted apartment hunting in the French capital, suggesting Paris Saint-Germain may have won the race for the centre-back.

But Tielemans, who has been linked with a permanent transfer to Leicester City, has reportedly had his head turned by United’s interest in him.

Liverpool meanwhile are yet to show their hand in the transfer window despite parting company with Daniel Sturridge and Alberto Moreno.

Mohamed Salah has rejected the opportunity to leave Liverpool for either Real Madrid or Juventus in what would be a record breaking £150million deal.

That said, Salah is set to review his situation next season.

Arsenal have been strongly linked with a moves for Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser and Yannick Carrasco in recent months.

Fraser recently poured cool water on the transfer speculation though, revealing he doesn’t believe Arsenal will pay his £30million valuation.

Why Arsenal have just been dealt a serious blow in Carrasco transfer race
Arsenal’s strict transfer budget is set to cause them to miss out on signing Yannick Carrasco this summer.

After missing out on the Champions League, Unai Emery is again set to be working with limited resources as he aims to strengthen his squad this summer.

According to The Sun, Arsenal are now out of the running for Carrasco after Dalian Yifang demanded £30m for his services.

Carrasco has previously been open about his desire to move back to Europe and declared he believes he would be well-suited to Premier League football.

But having been priced out of the move and with Ryan Fraser set to stay at Bournemouth, the Gunners look like they will not land either of their top attacking targets.

Bruno Fernandes subject of £44.6m bid
Sporting Lisbon have received a £44.6million bid for Bruno Fernandes from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, according to reports.

The Portugual international is one of Manchester United’s top transfer targets but the Red Devils are under pressure to move quickly now that they have serious competition for his signature.

The transfer fee shouldn’t put United off as they prepare to receive a big-money bid from either Real Madrid or Juventus for Paul Pogba.

But Atletico Madrid, who are ready to sign Fernandez, according to A Bola, can offer the midfielder Champions League football, which could see them steal a march on Manchester United.

Pogba publicly confirms intentions to leave United
Paul Pogba has publicly admitted for the first time he wants to leave Manchester United this summer.

Speaking to reporters in Tokyo, the Red Devils midfielder said it ‘could be a good time to have a new challenge’.

Pogba continues to be linked with an exit from Old Trafford after a tumultuous campaign for the Frenchman last term.

He fell out with boss Jose Mourinho before the Portuguese was axed in December, before a turnaround in form following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s return to the club.

But his performances dropped off again towards the end of the season, with Real Madrid keen to take him to the Bernabeu.

Juventus have also been linked with signing Pogba for a second time, but Real boss Zinedine Zidane is desperate to seal the deal.

Man Utd fans respond to Pogba ‘threatening to go on strike’
Manchester United fans have responded as you’d expect to clams Paul Pogba will go on strike to force through a move to Real Madrid.

The France international is reportedly desperate to complete a transfer to Los Blancos this summer to link up with Zinedine Zidane.

Spanish outlet ABC has even gone as far as to say the midfield is prepared to hand in a transfer request at United if his wishes go unanswered.

And that Pogba will even go on strike and simply refuse to report to pre-season training ahead of the new Premier League season.

Manchester United have slapped a £150million price tag on the world cup winner’s head in a bid to fend off Real Madrid – or at the very least, make a profit on the £89million they paid for him.

Arsenal agree personal terms with forward
Arsenal are preparing to make a third bid for Alexis Claude-Maurice after agreeing personal terms with the highly-rated French forward.

The Gunners are short on cover in attack with Danny Welbeck set to leave the club on a free this summer and have identified the teenager as a work in progress.

Arsenal have already made an approach for Claude-Maurice, but have seen two bids rejected by FC Lorient.

According to Get French Football, the Ligue 2 side are holding out for a transfer fee closer to £18million before they are prepared to accept a bid.

The good news for Arsenal is that Claude-Maurice is keen on a switch to the Emirates, where he will link up with his former team-mate Matteo Guendouzi.

Man Utd ‘plotting £25m transfer bid’ for Denzel Dumfries
Manchester United are reportedly lining up a £25million bid for PSV right-back Denzel Dumfries.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to strengthen his backline this summer and has seemingly set his sights on the Dutch international.

The 23-year-old fits the mould of young, improving players Solskjaer is looking to sign as he bids to get United back to Europe’s top table.

And he would come at a significantly lower price than Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, another one of the Red Devils’ targets, with the Londoners holding out for in excess of £50million, report The Sun.

Bournemouth will turn their attentions to signing Joe Hart if they are unable to land Jack Butland.

Teenager Elliott ‘set to leave Fulham’ amid Barca interest
Barcelona are considering a move for Harvey Elliott with the teenager set to leave Fulham this summer, according to reports.

Elliott became the youngest player in Premier League history last month when he came off the bench for the London club against Wolves aged 16 years and 30 days.

However, the talented midfielder is already set to quit the Cottagers following their relegation from the Premier League.

According to the Mail on Sunday, the teenager will be able to leave Craven Cottage as a free agent at the end of the month after failing to agree a new deal with the club.

And the publication claims that the Spanish champions are among the clubs looking at the midfielder, while Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig are also understood to be interested.

Jesus rules out City exit
Gabriel Jesus insists that both he and Sergio Aguero will remain at Manchester City this summer.

Some reports had suggested that the Brazilian was open to leaving the Etihad to get more game-time.

However, the striker rejected those claims and insisted he would be part of Pep Guardiola’s squad next season.

“I think it’s out of the question that Aguero leaves and me too,” he said after Brazil’s Copa America win over Bolivia (via Daily Mail).

“[Aguero] is a legend at the club – he’s the top scorer [of all time].

“Obviously as a player I always want to play, but I’m happy to help and I respect Sergio.”

Liverpool eyeing up McCarthy as Alisson back-up
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is weighing up a move for Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.

Simon Mignolet is set to leave Anfield this summer with Alisson firmly ensconced as Liverpool’s number one.

And Saints star McCarthy is on Klopp’s radar as he looks for a new back-up keeper.

Klopp considered a move for McCarthy last summer when a deal for Alisson looked like it might have to be put on hold with Roma digging their heels in.

But the Reds finally got their man and McCarthy remained at St Mary’s.

Craig Bellamy is to join Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht and will take up a role working behind the scenes at the Belgian club.

City legend Kompany announced his surprising decision to leave the club and go back to his native country last month following City’s Premier League title win.

And it looks like he has turned to old teammate Bellamy to take charge of the Anderlecht academy as the club look to improve on last season’s disappointing sixth placed finish in the Belgian First Division.

Bellamy posed for a picture with Anderlecht PR director David Steegan, who posted it on his Instagram account with the caption: “My new colleague Craig Bellamy.”

Bale to find way out at Bayern
Interesting one from The Sun.

Gareth Bale, unwanted at Real Madrid, is reportedly set to be offered a way out of his nightmare at the Bernabeu by Bayern Munich.

Grealish told to stay at Villa
Jack Grealish should resist any attempts by Tottenham to tempt him away from Aston Villa.

That’s the view of Sam Allardyce who believes play-maker Grealish, valued at an eye-watering £60million, should stick around at Villa – at least for a season.

The 23-year-old was first linked with Spurs last summer, and looked likely to leave his boyhood club until a move fell through.

Instead he stayed and inspired the team to the Championship Playoff final, where they beat Derby 2-1 and ensured there would be Premier League football at Villa Park for the first time since the 2015-2016 season.

Allardyce believes if Villa are to have any hope of avoiding relegation next season they need to keep hold of their talisman and fans’ favourite.

“It’s important to keep Grealish on board, that’s essential for their season and hopes of maintaining their Premier league status,” says Allardyce.

“And I wonder now why Grealish would want to leave anyway. He’s got to where he wanted to go with the club he loves so why not stay and see where the journey takes him.

“He’s adored by Villa fans and he’s playing on the biggest stage. If I was him I’d stick around and see what happens.

“And if Villa get their recruitment right and plus buy the right players to go with him then they could go a long way.”

David Neres issues response to Everton transfer interest
David Neres has admitted he’s interested in a Premier League switch, amid speculation that Everton are trying to lure him to Goodison Park.

The 22-year-old winger was a key figure in the Ajax team that made it to the semi-finals of the Champions League, beating the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus along the way.

He made 50 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring 12 goals, but with Frenkie de Jong moving to Barcelona and Matthijs de Ligt also set for an exit, the hugely talented young Ajax team is gradually being broken up this summer.

There is speculation that Neres could be another to move on to pastures new, but when asked about the potential of a move to Everton by the Liverpool ECHO he was tight-lipped.

“I try to stay focused on what’s happening on the pitch, and on the competition I’m playing in. I leave those things to my agents to deal with,” he said.

But Neres did confirm that he had thought about playing Premier League football, and didn’t rule out the prospect of playing there at some point in his career.

He added:

“Of course the Premier League interests me. It’s the best league in the world, and I’ve always wanted to play there. But I leave all that in God’s hands.”

Another Man City academy starlet ready to quit
Manchester City’s teenage midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru could be the next academy starlet to quit the Etihad.

The 19-year-old, who has come through the youth ranks, is at an impasse over a new deal – and it is unlikely he will put pen-to-paper.

That will leave the door open for him to make a move away from the Premier League champions – although the club will receive compensation.

It has been a source of angst at the Etihad that both Jadon Sancho and Brahim Diaz both sought to further their careers away from Manchester.

But the comparison with Dele-Bashiru is familiar as they too refused to commit to an improved contract.

The midfielder has been training with Pep Guardiola’s at times this season and is part of the Nigeria Under-20 World Cup side and has made a fleeting appearance in the first-team having featured as a substitute in a Carabao Cup clash against Leicester CIty.

Premier League clubs eyeing Bristol City’s Webster
Adam Webster will be at the centre of a transfer tug-of-war this summer.

Bristol City’s defender has only been at Ashton Gate for one season following a £3.5m move from Ipswich Town.

But a number of clubs who themselves have suitors eyeing their own stoppers will turn to 24-year-old Webster if they are caught short.

Wolves have been linked with James Tarkowski, leaving a space to fill at Turf Moor and Burnley are showing a keen interest.

But they are not alone. Newcastle, Southampton and Watford are also monitoring the situation.

The Robins have already banked £13m from the sale of Lloyd Kelly to Bournemouth this season and appear to have a fight on their hands to keep hold of another one of Lee Johnson’s main men.

“The opportunity came up to sign Robbie and we both felt it was an opportunity we had to take.”

More England starlet heading to the Bundesliga
Chelsea starlet Martell Taylor-Crossdale has become the latest English youngster lured to the Bundesliga.

England under-18s international Taylor-Crossdale, 19, will travel to Germany on Monday to undergo a medical and complete a move to Hoffenheim.

Taylor-Crossdale will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Jadon Sancho, Reece Oxford, Reiss Nelson and Ademola Lookman who moved to Germany to get more first team opportunities and boost their careers.

Fulham teenager Cody Drameh, 17, is another as he prepares to join Eintracht Frankfurt after travelling to Germany for a medical this week.

Sancho has forced his way into the England senior squad and German clubs continue to try and sign the best young English talent.

Londoner Taylor-Crossdale has been a prolific scorer through the various age groups and was the Under-18 Premier League top scorer in 2016/17 with 21 goals.

He will move to Germany after his contract at Chelsea expired and hopes game time and opportunities at Hoffenheim will reap rewards.

Meanwhile, Augsburg want to sign 20-year-old West Ham defender Oxford on a permanent deal after having him on loan last season.

Augsburg are insisting on a four year contract which has been a sticking point and a three year deal or a contract containing a buy-out clause could still get the deal done.

Man Utd keen on £45m Diop deal
One from Sky Sports.

Issa Diop starred for West Ham last season.

Now, according to Sky Sports, he’s on Manchester United’s radar.

It’s claimed the Hammers can double their money on the Frenchman, with United reportedly ready to pay £45million for the ex-Toulouse defender.

Personally, if I were West Ham, I’d hold out for much, much more.
